the gas and liquid concentrations in each reactor. At steady state. a mass balance for the ï¬rst reactor can be written for the gas as: 06660 â€” 00501 + DCCu - Cm) = 0 and for the liquid as: 01.5.1.2 â€” QLCLl + 0(501 â€” Cm) = 0 where:
o Qc=gasflowrate=2
CL = liquid ï¬‚ow rate = 1
D = the gas-liquid exchange rate = 0.8
CGo = the inlet concentration in the gas = 100
Cu; = the inlet concentration in the liquid = 10 Similar balances can be written for the other reactors. These mass balance equations can be
rearranged to form a system of linear algebraic equations. Write a MATLAB code that uses the Gauss-Seidel iterative method to solve for the
concentrations in each reactor. Write your code so that your algorithm terminates when i) when the relative percent error of the concentration in each reactor is less than 0.01%; or ii) the number
of iterations is greater than 1,000.
