## (Solved) It reads: In the bookstore the other day, Carol was buying a magazine that cost \$1.

Hello, I have a word problem I need help with thank you.

In the bookstore the other day, Carol was buying a magazine that cost \$1.50. After the cashier rang up the sale she reached into her pocket to find she had left her wallet at home, and had only a handful of pennies, nickels, and dimes. She had twice as many pennies as she had nickels, and fie times as many nickels as dimes. Her nickels and dimes together came to \$1.05. After she gave the cashier everything she had, how much did she have to borrow from the lady behind her to buy the magazine?Â
