Classification of data to make makes outliers become apparent
Essentially, outliers refer to values that are extremely high or low in such a way that they
exist far away from other data points. While outliers may at time represent rare or unusual cases,
they may also be an indication that given data does not belong to the other data of interest or a
possible error in data entry. Regardless of what outliers insinuates or comes from, they can be
easily identified using various functions such as sort, filter as well as charts including scatter
plots. For the case of our data set outlier consultants will be identified by performing sort
function on each consultant’s Total contracts, Total Sales, and Total cancellations data as well by
using scatter plots to represent the data sets. Outliers based on Total Contracts

because his number of contracts were far much higher than those of other contracts. However,
based on sales revenues the three outliers were the contractor IDs 83748200, 33407197 and
26354410 because their total sales revenues of $0 did not fell near any of the other sales

Based on the analysis of the data set, the sales consultants with a progression towards
noncompliance are the consultant IDs 26526109, 83748200, 33407197, 26354410, 26152889,
33255099 and 33233704. These consultants have a progression towards noncompliance because
they had the highest number of cancelations and the least number of contracts.
