Using a 5% level of significance, test whether the mean weekly earnings is more than 700. Assume that a sample of 36 has a mean of 750 and a population standard deviation (σ) of 120.

I set H1 to mu = 700 & H1 to mu > 700; alpha = 0.05. Critical value z = 1.645 with rejection region z > 1.645. Using z = (xbar - mu) / (sigma/sqrt(n)) I calculate 2.50.

P-value > 0.05 so I fail to reject H0 & conclude that weekly earnings equal 700.

Am I correct? Thanks!
